Michael Bealer, CLA
A lifelong resident of Vernon Parish, Michael Bealer began working in the Assessor’s Office in 1995 and served under the leadership of the previous two Assessors. He was elected as Assessor of Vernon Parish in 2015 and is currently serving his second term. Michael attained the designation of Certified Louisiana Assessor in 2009 and since that time has maintained that certification with over 500 education credit hours through the International Association of Assessing Officers and the Louisiana Assessors’ Association Education Program. Bealer has been appointed to serve the Louisiana Assessors’ Association on several committees to include: Insurance Committee, Legislative Committee, Professional Development Committee, GIS and Computer Technology Committee, Land Use Value Committee and also serves on the Board as a Trustee for the Retirement Fund. Prior to his time at the Assessor’s Office, Bealer was employed in the private sector as a Forester for Boise Cascade.
Bealer is very involved in the community, is active in many civic organizations and has served as President of the Greater Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce. He is an active member of East Leesville Baptist Church and currently serves as a deacon. He and his wife Amanda have 4 children, Sloane, Caden, Jackson and Avery. He has been very active in youth sports and some of his favorite time spent serving his community has been his many years of coaching Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball, Upward Basketball and Vernon Youth Football League. He is a Leesville High School graduate and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University.
Michael Bealer considers his role of Assessor as one of a public servant and is dedicated along with his staff to provide qualified, courteous and trustworthy service to the residents and property owners of Vernon Parish.
